The Elephant in my Brain

I have a great big piece of news that I'm not allowed to talk (or write) about until it's all confirmed. And, no, I am not pregnant.

The problem is that this big piece of news is taking up all the space in my head and demanding to be released. The only thing for it is to not write anything at all.

Fortunately, I have a piece published in topblogmag this week (not blog of the week, mind you, just an also ran) so if you really would like to read something of my adventures in Africa, feel free to have a look there.

It's not as big as the elephant in my head, but it does have a rhino in it!

What a great piece. Highly entertaining. I would imagine that the elephant in your brain is highly congratulation-worthy so congratulations and hopefully you can let it out soon.

Thanks Gwen. I'm afraid to accept the congratulations, even though they may be in order. I married an Irishman and it turns out superstition is contagious. Don't want to jinx this one...

i always do this. if i have a secret and am obviously not allowed to tell anyone, i have to tell EVERYONE that i have the secret and then they manage to guess what it is anyway. i must be so transparent. when can you tell us?

Oh thank God I'm not the only one EB! Hopefully within the next week. But I'm not sure I'll hold out that long!!!

Dear TGW,

I sense you and I have a lot in common! I have been unable to write properly on my blog for over two weeks, although to be fair I have been very upset by all of the news regarding Madeleine.

Good for you.

You have been blagged. Please see the blog on my site. Perhaps this will take your mind a bit off of your elephant. Cheers!

Blag is blog and tag together.

Assume you're relocating ... Back home or somewhere else?!

I am particularly terrible at keeping secrets, mine or anyone else's. I do not envy you the task of keeping mum for a week! I don't think I could do it. I'm sure I would blurt it out inadvertantly at the worst possible time, even if I could manage to refrain from writing it down.

Here's is hoping you have more luck! Can't wait until you 'fess up.

Hi DM - So I'm not the only one to get blogger block...
Thanks for the diversion Theresa. I did this one last week, but I'll see if I can dream up 8 more things.
Moving swiftly on past SAHD to Kaycie - I hope I hold out too. My desire to tell has me feeling like a toddler.
